What We Do !
Our meeting are held at the Oahu Veterans Center on the last saturday of the month at 11:00am except December when we have our Christmas Party.
Our Veterans provide tasty food at all of our meeting (buffet style).
We have great presentations at our meetings that pertain to Veteran Benefits, New Legislation, and various activites we get involved with.
We have a Christmas party / dinner at a nice restaurant for our members and family to attend with live good local entertainment.
We have booths at events like the Blue Angel Show.
We march and ride in the annual Kailua 4th of July Parade.
We present wreaths and / or leis at the veteran’s ceremonies at both the Punchbowl and the Oahu State Cemetery and we have representation at many veteran functions.
We have contributed monies to worthy causes, i.e. Windward Spousal Abuse Refuge.
We had 7 members of our Chapter on the State of Hawaii 50th Anniversary Commemoration of the Vietnam War Planning Committee.
We have members that ride motorcycles and participate in "Rolling Thunder" in Washington, DC.
Part of our VVA Ohana is the Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America, Inc. (AVVA) which is a national nonprofit membership and service organization. The AVVA is NOT an auxiliary, it is made up of Veterans from all eras, families and friends of Vietnam Veterans, military personnel and their families and anyone who wants to help support the needs and issues of all Veterans. The AVVA is open to anyone who wants to support the VVA."Together Always" is the motto of the AVVA. There are many wives or significant others that belong to the AVVA.
